We will be providing a Tea-Bar selling light refreshments, drinks and snacks throughout the day. You are welcome to bring your own packed-lunch or pop out to one of the numerous cafés and shops in the area.
Bring two pieces* to work on for each day, chosen from Opera, Oratorio, Art Song and The Lighter Side (eg. G&S, Operetta, Music Theatre or Cabaret songs). In your other two sessions you are free to choose which classes to observe. You are advised to learn pieces from memory if you wish to be considered for the student concert at the end of each day.
*Please help us to timetable effectively by sending in your song choices for Mini-AIMS by 28 February 2017
This year there will be one choral day on Saturday 22 April 2017 conducted by Gregory Rose, singing music by Morten Lauridsen and Eric Whitacre.
O magnum mysterium
O nata lux
Sure on this shining night
The seal lullaby
Animal crackers vol.1
Animal crackers vol.2
All the works will be available to hire at the course for a small charge.
You will spend Sessions 2, 3 and 4 studying set works. PLEASE NOTE: choral singers will begin their singing at 11.30am. However, you are welcome to arrive earlier in the day and observe one of the solo classes taking place. This is an ideal opportunity to pick up some vocal tips. A selection of the choral pieces studied will be performed in the student concert at the end of the day, alongside solo items chosen from the day’s classes.
