$4"...I am an AIMS 'virgin' - my first time, but certainly not my last. I was totally inspired and in absolute heaven! ... Dear Neil and Penny, God bless you both: - you are doing a fantastic job for British and International singers, and for the general upliftment of the spirit of the nation..." Neil Jenkins writes: "AIMS 2008 ended on a note of triumph on August 17th. After a week of consistently high-standard concerts there were standing ovations for Robert Dean's conducting of the Brahms Requiem with the AIMS Choir, and for Brian Kay's Beethoven choral concert, in which pianist Richard Shaw gave a superlative account of the solo piano part in the Choral Fantasia together with the Oratorio Choir. Other highlights of the week were the performance of Tallis' 40-part motet Spem in alium, sung by over 100 voices, the Service of Compline, and superb Tutors' Choice concert, Staged Opera scenes and Music Theatre presentation. $3Next year's provisional dates are August 16th - 23rd. Another !MINI-AIMS] is planned for the week after Easter, April 15 - 18th. Watch this space for further details on both of these. Other regional Mini-AIMS are also planned for Bath, Exeter and Glasgow during 2009. Auditions for solos and named roles in next August's main AIMS will take place on Sunday 19th April. Neil and Penny Jenkins thank all the students who made this year's course such a feast of music; and they warmly welcome all lovers of good singing to come to AIMS 2009. If it can possibly be done (!) they intend to make it even better than in 2007 and 2008 ....." $4You wrote to us afterwards to say: "...The organisation was seamless..." "...there was a very good atmosphere...and I anticipate that everyone will return next year - I certainly will..." "...The concerts have been wonderful, the masterclasses enlightening, the warm-ups and vocal technique classes huge fun. Thank you for making the week such a rewarding and fulfilling experience..." N.B. Further extracts from this year's 'feedback' will be posted on the website as soon as Neil and Penny have returned fom their holday.......
