Registration and Welcome at Eastbourne College

On Sunday August 19^theveryone arrives at Eastbourne College in sufficient time to park up in the designated areas to find their accommodation, and to settle in. Please arrive between 12 noon and 3pm unless auditioning. Follow the signs to Registration to check in and receive a name badge, a book of meal tickets and a Pass-card if resident; or a Pass-card & name-badge if non-resident, together with an up-to-date timetable and relevant car-park details. You will meet the AIMS staff and ‘TROGS’ who will ‘aim’ you in the right direction to find your accommodation. There will be orientation walks at 1pm and 2pm.

At 3pm.there will be a ‘Welcome’ introductory talk by the Adminsitrator and Artistic Director in the Auditorium of the new BIRLEY CENTRE, who will explain the changes to the college’s teaching rooms and practise rooms incurred by the opening of this new facility. They will also explain the workings of the AIMS daily timetable – & personal timetable – to new students, who often find it difficult to quickly get the hang of them! They will give out their usual list of do’s and don’ts and also introduce the AIMS staff of Trogs and Helpers.

There will be a further orientation walk afterwards, at approx. 3.30pm

Tea will be served in the Casson Gallery between 4pm and 4.30pm.

The Beginning of the Course

At 4.30pm the first class begins.

For CHORAL SINGERS this is the first rehearsal of O) the Oratorio Choir
For SOLO SINGERS it might be a first meeting of your Op) Staged Opera scene for a musical run-through – or it might be something else.
For BURSARY STUDENTS it will be a meeting about the lunchtime concerts.
For STUDENT PIANISTS it will be a first meeting with David Willison 14 Supper will be from 6.00pm – 7.30pm, in the Dining Hall.

At 7.45pm the CELEBRITY GALA RECITAL will begin.
